The 20 Ultimate Must-Try Restaurants in the Hamptons (2025 Dining Guide)

Curated. Unbiased. Vetted Picks.
Looking for the best restaurants in the Hamptons? From chic Italian patios to fresh seafood, this is your Hamptons dining guide for where to eat now. Whether you’re planning a foodie weekend or just chasing the perfect lobster roll, these are the restaurants I return to again (and again)

Southampton: See and be seen

Dopo Argento – Cozy Italian Dining with Outdoor Seating

One of my go-to’s, time and time again, no matter the season. On main street in Southampton, it provides the perfect mix of “see and be seen”, while also providing top tier Italian dining and service. Stylish yet cozy, with outdoor seating in front and back and a lively bar scene inside, Dopo Argento serves a short-list of tailored Italian cooking with phenomenal cocktails – you can equally stop in for just a drink an a quick appetizer or stay for while, enjoying those cool summer evenings on the patio with a fantastic pasta and a nice martini in hand.

Don’t miss: Fresh Oysters, (dirty) martinis, Wagyu meatballs, and any pasta (you deserve it!)
Don’t forget: Reservations are a must for dinner in season, and the bar is stylish but small, so avoid peak times for a walk in dinner and bites. Oh, and leave the pets and kids at home for this one – dogs aren’t allowed, and the vibes don’t lend super kid-friendly
Perfect for: Date nights, drinks with the girls, anniversary/birthday celebrations, dinner with the rents

*Side note- This is by far my favorite go-to South, Dopo has consistently been on my rotation for years. Whether it’s just stopping in for a quick happy hour martini to kick off the weekend, or staying awhile for a nice get-together for dinner, it doesn’t disappoint. They’re also great in the winter – the small, intimate vibe cozies up those chilly winter nights, and there’s usually a lively crowd. They also can make any pasta dish gluten free (necessary for me!)

The second T-Bar opens, run don’t walk because before you know it summer is over and they are wrapping up the season. *Sigh for a wishing this fabulous place was open all year*. With a stunning garden patio with a retractable canopy, lively bar & valet parking, and oh – did I mention it’s dog friendly? Could T-Bar get better? Don’t think so! Make a reservation because it gets packed!

Don’t miss: Classic burger, turkey burger, zucchini pizza (thin strings of zucchini on top of cheese no sauce, so unique), margarita pizza, and the duck
Don’t forget: Reservations – T-Bar is seasonal and fills up fast! Also, feel free to bring the pup and sit outside
Perfect for: Date nights, drinks with the girls, anniversary/birthday celebrations, dinner with the rents

A no-frills favorite for the best lobster rolls in the Hamptons, don’t be fooled but it’s diner decor – Lunch is definitely a Hamptons-take on the classic diner. Casual, coastal, and delicious, this is always a go to when we are craving a cool (or hot!) lobster roll on a July day.

Don’t miss: Hot lobster roll, lobster grilled cheese, crab-stuffed shrimp (my take out go to!), any of the chowders, seafood nachos
Perfect for: Casual dinner or lunch, take-out, your lobster rolls dreams
Bonus: Cute back patio and diner nautical vibes with booths inside.

For Aperol spritzes, espresso, and people-watching, whether breakfast, lunch or dinner, Sant Ambroeus is a mainstay go-to for me in South. While sure, they have outposts in the city as well as Palm Beach now, there’s just something about the vibes here that scream ‘Hamptons’. Whether you’re looking for a quick iced coffee on your morning stroll, a leisurely patio dining, or looking to stay awhile inside, away from the heat, Sant Ambroeus never disappoints.

Don’t miss: Iced coffee, their fresh pasta (gluten free available), or a classic soup and salad lunch. The pear sorbet (other fruit flavors good too) and princess cake (the bright pink one, I can eat both of these on repeat).
Don’t forget: Reservations for dinner, and feel free to bring the kids! Tip: Grab a table outside in the alley for full Euro-Hamptons fantasy
Perfect for: Breakfast, lunch, al fresco dining – or stop in and grab some dessert to-go

Water Mill: Elevated Sushi

Seriously best sushi in the Hamptons. When Kissaki closes for the winter, I have to get our sushi fix at Sugarfish NYC or binge it on a business trip. Takeout is on the regular rotation. Chic and intimate with romantic string lights outside.

Don’t miss: Omakase menu and specialty rolls—every bite is perfection. Favorites are spicy tuna and salmon avocado.
Perfect for: Date nights, dinner with the rents, take out

Kissaki – Omakase Take Out

A lot of people are surprised to hear the food from Hampton Coffee is actually so great at their Watermill location. I love all the local coffee of course but are more obsessed with the food- this location has a full service dining room (with beautiful little garden area outside too!) that serves all your breakfast faves. For those slow, Saturday mornings (or those rough, Sunday ones (iykyk), stopping in a staying a while is definitely worth it.

Don’t Miss: Mexican breakfast tacos, tuna sandwich, roast turkey sandwich, chips and guac
Perfect for: Post-pilates Saturday AM brunch, or a quick stop any day of the week

Bridgehampton: Italian Charm, Greek Favorites & Steakhouses

Warm ambiance and authentic dishes made for long, leisurely summer nights. Now, we know what you’re thinking – another Italian recommendation? But trust me, Dopo Il Ponte is worth the drive whether you’re local to Bridge or not. Whether you choose cozy indoor seating (with a view of their roaring pizza oven) or dining al fresco on their expansive patio, Dopo is a a go-to when I want quality food

Don’t miss: House-made pastas especially all the ones with seafood—simple, fresh, and delicious
Perfect for: date night, family in town

My top pick for Greek food in the Hamptons. Between the cozy, approachable but elevated ambience and their wide ranging menu to serve all your Greek food desires, you’ll feel transported to Greece (if even just for an hour). Everything I have gotten here has been phenomenal. Expect fresh seafood, lively DJ at certain hours, and a packed bar.

Don’t miss: Grilled chicken skewers and any seafood dish. The mezzes, pita, branzino, moussaka.
Perfect for: Date night, group dining, girls night out, family in town
Pro tip: Reserve ahead—it fills up VERY fast for dinner.
Note: This is by far my favorite restaurant in all of the Hamptons. Whether I’m driving through the snowy January with my husband for a Friday night date night, or stopping in with visiting friends on a busy summer Saturday, Elaia brings consistently both great vibes and fantastic food (not always a given!). We usually always do an ‘order for the table and share’ dining vibe because I honestly can never just choose “one” – get their mezzes, a greek salad, and some protein (and maybe some Greek fries…) and you’re good to go

Timeless Hamptons steakhouse – Bobby Van’s is a classic staple I’d be remiss to not include. Consistently great food, it’s my go-to when craving quality steak or burger. And of course, because it’s me – definitely don’t overlook their strong dirty martini game.
Don’t miss: Filet mignon, burger, truffle fries, creamed spinach. If short ribs with mashed potato are on the special menu, order them.
Perfect for: Date night, family in town

I have been to Topping Rose at least 20 times and each time it hits. The interior is light filled and cheerful with a beautiful patio area. The breakfast / lunch options are spot on and they always have great service. From time to time they also have “special” occurrences. For example, I did a ladies dog mom mother’s day high tea that was lovely with some DINK friends in the spring!

Don’t Miss: Smash burger (they re-did the burger about a year or so ago and the smash is sooo good, make sure to leave the sauce it comes with on), omelets that are cooked to perfection like you are in France, warm shrimp salad, kale salad (shredded with thin jalapenos and just the right amount of crunch sounds basic at first but is so elevated)
Perfect for: Brunch, weekend dining (with the girls, date night, or bring the whole fam)

East Hampton / Wainscott: Does Not Disapoint

Cozy interiors, flawless service, and well-made martinis, East Hampton Grill is always the right choice for a nice, fantastic dinner. Come hungry, because you’ll want to stay awhile and take in the scene and the food – I always get multiple courses here because the food is just that good. What makes this top tier though (for me, anyways) is their martini game – once your ice cold glass begins to disappear, they will immediately swap it out with a new one, so it’s always icy cold
Don’t miss: Ribs, shoestring fries, biscuits, artichoke and icy-cold martinis served in icy glasses that get swapped out like magic.
Perfect for: Date night, dinner with family, drinks

With an expansive mixed menu across cuisines, Highway is a crowd pleaser. A cozy casual vibe inside it is ideal for relaxed dinners or quality takeout.
Don’t miss: Thai chicken stir-fry (on repeat, hold the chilis if you don’t want spicy but it adds a nice kick if you can tolerate mild spice, get extra sauce. don’t skip the rice) and the juicy cheeseburger with fries. Also try the Asian infusion themed night that only happens once a week.

Sag Harbor: Chic Brunch, Date Spots & Euro Energy

Romantic dinner or brunch with the girls—it works either way.
Don’t miss: The classic tomato sauce pasta. Surprisingly unforgettable. Also, the seafood pastas. Tiramisu for dessert.

Vibrant crowd, delicious drinks, and solid brunch fare, Lulu’s is a yearround staple for us in Sag Harbor for great food, vibes, and cocktails. Their wood-fired grill adds an extra flavor to their entries that can’t be beat, and their brunch is a perfect balance of chic and tasty. Whether stopping in for just a few shareables and drinks, or coming hungry for a full meal, Lulu’s doesn’t disappoint.

Don’t miss: Brunch cocktails, seasonal specials, and their Signature Heirloom Cauliflower (trust us – get it and split it and even the pickiest eaters will love it)
Perfect for: Girls brunch, happy hour drinks, family dinners and date night

Buzzy and laid-back, with consistently great food.
Don’t miss: The burger and fries (more chip like). Always a win.

A fashionable pick with upscale dishes and a Euro-flirty atmosphere, while many may come to Le Bilboquet for the vibes and the scene, you’ll be pleasantly surprised by the quality and taste of their food and drinks. On google and yelp Bilbo does not get the highest stars but I definitely think it is worth going, especially if the weather is nice. The food is good and the views are stunning.
Don’t miss: Chicken paillard, tuna tartare, nicoise salad, sharp cocktails, and sidewalk-stroll people-watching.
Perfect for: Nights out, brunches, girls day

Self explanatory. So good. Dog friendly on the main street in Sag Habor.

Hampton Bays: Underrated Waterfront Dining

Spacious and inviting with a menu that pleases everyone.
Don’t miss: Skillet cornbread, North Fork salad, lobster rolls, the lobster stuffed mushrooms (they’re back!), and the deviled eggs
Bonus: Cowfish is great for all ages – the outdoor bar is perfect for a young date night, live music appeals to all ages, and the front area also offers a chic playground for kids to get their energy out while you wait for a table

A newer edition to Hampton Bays (they opened mid-season in 2024), Almafi has quickly become one of my summer go-to’s when the weather is nice (which in the Hamptons is more often than not!). Almafi is not your typical Hampton Bays eating – it’s an upscale, lively restaurant that, while cute inside, gets top marks in our books for its expansive, outdoor, waterfront dining (did we mention it has an outdoor bar dedicated to serving spritzes? #goals).
While you may be tempted to just grab one of their signature cocktails and relax in the adirondacks looking out into the intercoastal (me too… I have the pics to prove it), it’s worth sticking around for the food as well – it’s a wonderful blend of Mediterranean (I don’t think I’ve ever not gotten their Mezze Plate) and Italian.

Don’t miss: grab a signature cocktail at their outdoor bar (we recommend the Paper Plane to Amalfi or Hampton Spritz), the Mezze appetizer. their crispy rice, and wild salmon
Perfect for: Sunny weather – take advantage of those views! Great for group gatherings, lunch with the girls, or date night. Feel free to bring the kids, but leave the dogs at home

Amagansett: Breakfast Goals & Pizza Dreams

The first time I had the breakfast roti, we actually died and went to heaven. The mix Bright flavors and ingredients is genius. Grab and go with trays and outside dining picnic tables. Super casual. Breakfast was so good we went back for dinner to try more rotis and those were great as well. Lovely stop if you are walking around in Amagansett and plus for being dog friendly option.

Don’t miss: As mentioned, the breakfast roti. Just do it.
Perfect for: Brunch with friends, casual night out

There’s a lot of pizza out east but Fini is the one we would eat weekly if it was closer to home (Fini, please open a spot in Southampton). It has a thin crispy crust, bold flavor combos that are unique, and always on point. Seriously best pizza out east. Eat inside at the mini bar after ordering a few individual slices / pie or at the chairs / tables outdoors. We highly recommend trying all the varieties.

Don’t miss: Long hot shallot pizza, white pie with lemon and tomato sauce with no cheese / crispy breadcrumbs. Tip: get a side of the hot honey. Trying their gelato is on our to do list but we’ve heard good things.
Perfect for: Anytime you want pizza. Need I say more?

Welcome to the hamptons!

Lauren here – former weekender turned full-time Hamptonite. Now in my 30s, I’m proud to call the East End home year-round. This guide is my love letter to the place that captured our hearts — beyond the beach days and beyond the season.
